Product description
Red Aswan Granite is an igneous stone quarried in the Aswan region of Egypt, famous for its ancient quarries. Its distinctive deep red hue stems from high concentrations of potassium feldspar in its crystalline structure, combined with quartz and mica, which give it a subtle luster and a medium-to-fine-grained texture. The subtle veining adds movement without compromising visual uniformity, creating surfaces with strong character and a memorable architectural presence.
Ideal for high-traffic residential and commercial projects, this granite is suitable for both interior and exterior flooring, wall cladding, stairs, and pool edges. Its minimal water absorption and frost resistance make it perfect for extreme climates. In commercial spaces such as lobbies, airports, and corporate centers, its exceptional durability withstands the most demanding use without losing its original beauty.
Available in seven finishes—from classic polished to flamed, bush-hammered, and sandblasted—it allows the aesthetics and functionality to be tailored to each project. The textured finishes achieve an R11-R12 slip resistance rating, recommended for wet outdoor areas and pool zones. The polished finish, rated R9, is ideal for interiors where elegance and ease of maintenance are sought.
With a bulk density of 2,634 kg/m³, a Mohs hardness of 6–7, and compressive strength exceeding 148 MPa, Red Aswan offers an exceptional balance between technical performance and aesthetic value. Compatible with radiant heating and heat-resistant, it is a lasting investment for architects and designers seeking quality, distinction, and reliability in natural stone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you buy
No. The color of granite comes from mineral pigmentation in its crystalline structure, being highly stable to UV rays. Its rich color does not fade with sun exposure or rain under normal outdoor conditions.
Indoor residential: 1.8-2 cm. Commercial or high traffic: minimum 2 cm. Exterior paving or heavy loads: 3 cm. All formats ≥ 60×60 cm should use 2 or 3 cm to avoid risk of breakage.
Yes, with conditions. Red Aswan is frost resistant and stable in chlorinated water. Only rough finishes (Flamed, Bushhammered, Sandblasted - R11 minimum) are suitable for pool edges. Polishing is dangerous in wet areas.
It is not mandatory, but highly recommended. With only 0.08% absorption, granite is very non-porous. However, rough unsealed finishes can accumulate oils and stains. A penetrating impregnator prolongs the life without altering the appearance.
1.8 cm → ~47.4 kg/m² | 2.0 cm → ~52.7 kg/m² | 3.0 cm → ~79.0 kg/m². Weight should be considered in structural design, especially in raised floors.
Use C2TE S1 polymer-modified flexible adhesive for most applications. For large formats (≥ 40×60 cm) or heavy stone, use C2TE S2. Always use white or light gray adhesive.
Ideal for high traffic residential and commercial flooring, interior and exterior cladding, stairs, pool edges (with rough finish) and public spaces such as lobbies and airports.
Polished (R9, interiors), Matt and Brushed (R10, interiors and moderate traffic), Flamed, Bushhammered and Sandblasted (R11-R12, wet exteriors and swimming pools). Rough finishes are non-slip and more porous, requiring sealing.
It comes from the Aswan region of Egypt, historically famous for its high quality natural stone quarries used since ancient times.
Yes, with certified frost resistance (EN 12371), Mohs hardness 6-7 and water absorption of 0.08%, Red Aswan is highly resistant to scratching, heavy traffic and extreme weather conditions.
